Volunteer opportunities where regular help is needed. Often these roles are based at the gallery.
Here are some examples:

Welcome volunteer

Offer a friendly and warm welcome to every visitor.
Provide information about exhibitions, events and facilities. 
Encourage visitor and family engagement with learning resource space and keep the room tidy. This role involves welcoming visitors around the building and on the gallery Information desk.


Tour volunteer

Do you have a passion for art and exhibition details? Share your knowledge and enthusiasm!
Through training and personal research, develop a personal tour of the current exhibition or about the gallery.
Tour duration usually around 30-45 minutes.


Shop volunteer

Would you like to gain retail experience within a vibrant and dynamic gallery shop?

Offer a friendly and informative welcome to gallery visitors.
Promote gallery exhibitions and events.
Process sales, event bookings, assist with visual merchandising and stock takes.
Update product entries and descriptions.
Write and schedule social media posts for Instagram and Twitter.

Have a spare hour or two?

Write a review
Help us take an idea for a test run or contribute an object when we have a call out for collections.

Become a Volunteer Ambassador

Volunteer Ambassadors maintain links with the volunteer community at the gallery and help the team grow.

After volunteering for a little while, you may want to learn more about what happens behind the scenes, get involved with team discussions or deepen connections to the volunteer community.

What is a volunteer?

A volunteer is anyone who, without compensation or expectation of compensation, performs a task at the direction of and on behalf of the gallery under their own free will. Volunteers can be involved in every level of the organisation.
