Opportunity: Festive Digital Project editors/ content creators needed!

Modern Art Oxford’s Digital & Communications team are seeking individuals from the volunteer team to help create a fun digital campaign this December. The project will be led by Andree Latham, Curator, Digital Content at the gallery

This Festive Digital Project will deliver our audiences a Modern Art Oxford-style countdown to the season on social media, focusing on hope and connectivity, and of course inspiring art stories. These are some of the tasks that you may be asked to complete, but you can choose what area(s) you prefer:

* Social media/digital research
* Storytelling through image and words
* Modern Art Oxford archive research
* Photography/ filmmaking
* Online image sourcing
* Speaking to camera

We would ask you to be there for these x4 group sessions:
Wednesday 18 November, 2-3pm, Wednesday 25 November, 2-3pm, Wednesday 2 December, 2-3pm, Wednesday 9 December, 2-4pm [all online, Zoom]

In addition, there would be around 1-2 hours of research/creative tasks for you to complete in your own time per week (but let’s be flexible as we are all busy!).

Deadline to sign up is Monday 16th November at 5pm but please let me know asap. Email me at andree.latham@modernartoxford.org.uk to join the group or ask a question. Once you sign up, there will be a fun task to do before session one.

Thanks everyone!

Do you have an idea for connecting with Modern Art Oxford’s online audiences during our time of closure?

We are using the ongoing project MAO Assembly to share positive and thought-provoking responses to what’s happening in the world. Specifically, we are looking for blog contributions that explore creative responses to the current health crisis and lockdown.

Perhaps you’ve been creating something at home for yourself, or for university and would be willing to share it?

Have you been volunteering elsewhere and want to share your experience?

Perhaps you have a creative ‘How To’ that could help our audience to feel connected, mindful or artistic?

If you would like to get involved, whether you have an idea or not, email Andree at the gallery at andree.latham@modernartoxford.org.uk. You will be invited to join the next MAO Assembly virtual catch up, a really informal forum for discussing the project. It would be great to see you there so please get in touch.

All the best,
